Spring is almost here and I am beyond ready to be finished with this dreadfully long semester. I have loved every opportunity that has arrived my way throughout these past few months in Philadelphia but I will also admit that I have a few too many cookies on my plate.
I have acquired a lot of potential new goals & adventures racing through my mind lately. I’m currently working my butt off attempting to land the “dream internship.” Or at the very least, the internship that leads to the “dream internship.” I’ve sent out my resume to about hundred different places and while some have gotten back with open arms, others have been giving me some serious cold shoulder. Luckily, I only have a few more applications to complete before I am forced to make a decision.
Once that dreadful task is completed (because I am not what you would call a decisive person) I can focus on curating good summer vibes and finally switch over to my Happy-morning Spotify playlist. I have a lot of schemes for myself this summer, starting with a Philadelphia mural tour. I am determined to hit every Insta worthy wall in this damn city and as you can see, I’m already getting a head start.
It’s not exactly as world-renowned as it deserves but Philly has one of the largest mural arts programs in the entire country. I am extremely lucky to live in a city that welcomes street art and self-expression. I love being surrounded by art rather than having it limited to museums. Philadelphia actually has already established their own mural walking tours that you can do for free. First on my list is a new Bernie Sanders Mural that was recently composed. It’s only temporary and with Bernie rumored to be headed to Philly soon, I’ve got to act fast.
This particular day, my best friend since animal-cracker-days came to visit me. We had extensive goals for the day including multiple photo shoot locations. Unfortunately, like every other time we get together, we ended up procrastinating, eating and ultimately slumming it. We were still able to get a few lookbook shots before the rain hit and then proceeded to stuff our faces with appetizers throughout Northern Liberties. This is the first time we have ever fully committed to “twinning” it and I gotta say it’s nauseating and cute at the same time.
Along with mural tours, I am crafting a summer bucket list filled with adventure. I don’t want to give too many secrets away but Chicago, Boston, and California are sure to make an appearance.
In addition to some needed travel, summer 2016 might just be the season for my first tattoo. I would love to tell you more but some secrets are just better off staying that way.
Until Next time,
XO
